Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions for the Pilates Precision, please contact a member of the Pilates Precision Team or complete the Contact form

Q. What prior qualifications do I need in order to register on the Matwork or Equipment Diploma courses?

A. We do not require any prior qualifications to register for our Matwork Diploma. We do require you to attend at least five mat or ‘one-to-one’ classes with any qualified instructor before your training begins. In order to begin the equipment diploma, you will need a Level 3 Teaching in Mat Pilates qualification from the Pilates Precision or another training provider.

Q. How long will the training take?

A. Your Matwork diploma will take between 6-8 months depending upon the dates set for your group. However, we do allow you to be flexible. If you cannot attend one of your scheduled dates then there is no problem re-booking this module at a later date. We do recommend that you try to complete the Matwork Diploma within the time period set out for your group. The Equipment Diploma may add a further 6-12 months to your training, depending on where these dates fall in the year.

Q. How much does the training cost?

A. There are several ways you can commit to the training with the Pilates Precision, which will affect the payment. The full breakdown of course content, fees and payment options is available from our Teacher Training Pack.

Q. Where does the training take place?

A. The courses take place at various venues in central London. Module locations will be confirmed during sign-up.

Q. What qualification do I achieve at the end of the training?

A. The Matwork Diploma program carries a Level 3 Teaching in Mat Pilates certificate awarded by Central YMCA Qualifications (CYQ). Gaining this qualification will enable you to register on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) as a Level 3 Pilates Instructor. The Equipment Diploma carries the Pilates Precision accreditation and certification. The Masters Certification is accredited by the Pilates Precision.

Q. Are there any additional fees?

A. There are no additional costs for Diploma students. All course fees are inclusive of course materials, administration, registration and assessment fees. On an individual basis returning non-Diploma students may incur an additional fee of £50 for the Level 3 examination and materials. VAT is not charged on this fee, as it is the direct cost charged to the Pilates Precision by Central YMCA Qualifications (CYQ), from whom you will receive Level 3 status. Fees for entry on to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) can vary and are charged directly by them to you upon application.

Q. What’s the difference between your course and others on the market?

We offer comprehensive training through all levels of Matwork and Equipment, including remedial and lectures with physiotherapists. When you commit to the Pilates Precision training programmes, whether you commit to all or part of the Master’s Programme, you will benefit from the full support of the faculty, before, during and following your completion of the training. You do not need to join another school to achieve your complete training in the Pilates technique. Our Programmes are research and evidence based with an excellent success rate. We do not require any supervised teaching hours. We do however have one of the highest face-to-face tutor contact hours of any Pilates training provider. All evidenced practice hours are completed in your location within your schedule. We also offer a flexible approach to payment and time.

Q. What happens if I do not pass my examinations first time?

A. The Pilates Precision takes pride in helping students achieve the best standard possible. We take our training very seriously and will make every effort to enable you to gain a pass mark. The Pilates Precision will make faculty members available to you for additional tutelage, practice teaching and revision where re-attendance of a course element is not practical. However, each case is dealt with on an individual basis and is dependent upon the specific circumstances at the time. If your tutors or assessors recommend or support re-attendance then no extra fees are charged.

Q. If I am unable to attend a course I have pre-booked, will I loose my fees?

A. No, however all fees are non-refundable. All we need is written confirmation of postponement and we will transfer you to the next available course date. This could even be an extended period depending on circumstance. If it is an unforeseen emergency and no notice is given, we will transfer fees to the next course once written confirmation is received. In cases of regular non-attendance the Pilates Precision will advise you that a fee may be due on any further occurrences. Cancellation or non-attendance fees will not be charged without this being advised prior to any future events. This does not effect registration terms and conditions.

Q. Does the new Level 3 qualification effect my existing qualifications?

A. It doesn’t! Nothing can take away from the work you have already done.
